International Alternative Press Festival

I am super excited to be in 2nd International Alternative Press Festival (#IAPF2 ) again after last year's success. It will be held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2012 at London’s excellent Conway Hall.  It again, brings together UK and European small press comix, zines, book arts and print.

I will be there in both day with my new book [The Journey] and new zine [Neighborhood].

Hand printed Book [The Journey]

This is the newest picture book I did back in May this year.

The character Billy the Bear and Fish-men from my imaginary lands has started a little adventurous journey to discover different islands. There is always something in my head about this book but I spent couple of month to find the right direction. I am proud of this little world have born. I would say this is a book allow anyone to explore and to find encouragement.

This book is a hand binding with natural birch wood cover. 4 colors silk screen printed with 16 pages and can also be unfold to an impressive long landscape.

Printed on quality printmaking white paper.

Wood Street Open Art

I have recently enter Wood Street open art competition. When I did some research about the area. I found those two image inspiring and I thought it would be great to make it into a celebration of old/ new and circus-like fun land.

There are also many antique, record shops are perfect for some useful visual research.

Here is the final design! I had great fun exploring new ideas, arranging colors.

I was slightly disappointed that didn't manage to see my image on thousand of bags...well... at least my image got highly commended and I can still see this image's potential in other different things!

Animal sandwich

I have been busy printing one of the image from greeting card onto tote bag.

It took longer to dry them than print them but I really enjoy the whole progress.

When I finished print those images I couldn't stop myself but laugh...as they look so stupidly cute....and I must admit my 'artistic printing skill'.....none of those 20 bags are the same.

I also messing around a little bit with some other printed bags. Not sure anyone will want it...
